Longview 150 Birthday Celebration - Registration
Since many of the City of Longview's Sesquicentennial events had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we wanted to find a fun way to engage the entire community to safely celebrate our city's 150th birthday.

All businesses, schools, organizations, and families are invited to celebrate the official Charter Date of Longview as a town on Monday, May 17.

We know that creativity abounds in our community, and we are looking forward to hearing about and hopefully seeing what YOU can come up with.

Examples include:
• Decorating windows
• Putting Happy Birthday Longview: May 17, 1871 on your signs
• Having Office Birthday Celebrations
• Gathering your group together and singing Happy Birthday to Longview and putting it on Social Media
• Assembling your group to spell out a message and using a drone to take footage .... and sending it to the City for posting
• Churches, especially our original / founding churches might celebrate on Sunday, May 16 with "Founders Day Luncheons" or by commemorating former pastors and significant events in their histories.

The City plans to capture the celebration and save information for the Time Capsule to be buried later in the year and electronic information will be archived by the Longview Public Library.

Use this form to let us know how are you are celebrating Longview's 150th birthday on May 17, 2021 and you may be included in our coverage of the day's celebrations or be joined in your celebration by City staff/officials.

The most creative celebration will also be recognized and awarded with a Longview150 prize package.
