Dear CRAC Volunteers,
Thank you for your interest in volunteering in NewYork-Presbyterian hospitals.
WHAT YOU WILL DO: You will be performing a non-patient-facing activity at an NYP hospital, including serving food/meals to hospital staff (not patients), cleaning common areas, folding and distributing clean scrubs, and/or distributing supplies between Milstein departments.
WHAT YOU WILL NOT DO: You are NOT allowed to serve in a patient facing capacity for this project.
RISKS: You will be provided with PPE upon entry to the hospital and receive direction from NYP hospital personnel. Although you are not working directly with patients, you will be working within a hospital in which infected patients are being treated.
DETAILS:
We will have different shifts a day at five different New-York-Presbyterian hospital sites. Each shift will consist of 2 volunteers with different people staffing each hospital each day. You will sign-up for specific shifts using the software program called Sling. We will send you the Sling invitation upon completion of this form.
The 5 NYP hospital sites are: Milstein and the Children’s Hospital of New York at the medical campus, Lower Manhattan Hospital near FiDi, and Allen Hospital in Inwood, Milstein Supply Distribution. See exact locations here:
https://goo.gl/maps/YSsuNCzQppqCiNQy9The different shifts vary by hospital:
Allen Hospital: 5am-11am, 7am-3pm, 11pm-7am
Children's Hospital and Milstein: 9am-3pm, 3pm-9pm
Lower Manhattan Hospital: 7am-3pm, 12pm-8pm
Milstein Supplies: 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am
We recognize that overnight shifts are not going to be favored. But they are equally important so we ask that everyone who volunteers consider this time.
We will not be accepting help from students in any on-site position at this time. Also, you must be a fully hired Columbia affiliate to participate.
All participants will be provided with an information packet prior to their shift with best practices and other information.
In addition, two RASCAL training courses are listed in the form below. Please make sure to complete them as we will be verifying with Environmental Health and Safety.
Thank you for your help,
The CRAC Team
