Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Delaware County Pride events. There are many tasks that will need to be done for the Pride Parade, Pride on State and the Pride Festival. For these events we require that you arrive early so you have ample time to review duties and be stationed on time. The Pride Parade will happen in Media, PA down State Street on June 1st from 12pm-1:30pm. After the parade Pride on State will occur with a variety of events from drag shows, to pub quizzes, kids activities etc all hosted by local businesses in Media. Delco Pride Festival will be held on June 8th from 1pm - 6pm in front of the Upper Darby Municipal Building.
For the festival, volunteers will be given either a morning or afternoon shift and we will do our best to put friends/family and take into account preferences where possible. A majority of the help needed will be for set-up and clean-up but there are a range of tasks for during the festival like greeters, talent escorts, activities helper etc.
Volunteer information will be sent from the volunteer coordinators in May including possible shifts, roles, responsibilities, etc. There is a mandatory virtual training on May 26th for 1 hour to review the Pride Parade, Pride on State and Pride festival check-in process, code of conduct etc. Please put this on your calendar as this will be an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about how you can help these events be a success. Please not that you are not required to volunteer for all three events but please select any you are interested in.
As gratitude for signing up to volunteer, you will be provided with an official Delaware County Pride T-shirt, lunch, and behind the scenes access.
