Interested in adding that line to your resume? How about telling the story in job interviews and family gatherings of how you competed against 15 teams from 15 other nation states and had only 4 hours to map, and 20 minutes to present a business case solution for an international expansion and/or new product evolutions?
...and that a panel of independent judges said your team was the best?
This is an open call for four UNI students with a drive and focus to rise to the challenge.
Seven Ingredients for Success:
- Innovative. create and communicate a compelling vision for adding new market value.
- Analytical. ability to organize and prioritize the big picture using model thinking to guide an audience to see and understand where the bread crumbs leads on solutions.
- Articulate. oral communication skills to express yourself with minimum preparation on a specific case.
- Collaborative. willingness to have teammates' back as unexpected developments pop up or step into the gap and create structure that makes everyone better.
- Focus. ability to focus on a singular mission for 3-10 hours.
- Diplomacy and PR. willingness to represent the values that University of Northern Iowa stands for to the world.
- Commitment. ability to prioritize world competitions dates (week before Spring Break 2023), and available to train to get better on all these dimensions over the next six months.

Fri. Oct 28, 2022, Registration for NIBS World Case Competition. Our UNI (NIBS) Team finalized.
Nov 8, - 18, 2022, Qualifying Round of NIBS World Case Competition. Our UNI (NIBS) Team competes in an 8 hour case virtual written challenge.
Mar 5 - 10, 2023,
Official NIBS World Championships, 2023. Our UNI (NIBS) Team competes in three rounds of Sweet 16 bracket playoffs via 5 and 10 hour case prep with in-person presentation challenge and activities with teams from all over the world. Team members are required to be on campus during this time. Tentative schedule listed

* Model Thinking training will start Oct 2022, Oral presentation practice will start Jan 2023. communicating through graphic visual representations practice will start Feb 2023.
