2021 Illinois Green Sustainable Facilities Mentor Volunteer Application
Apply to be an Illinois Green Sustainable Facilities Mentor Volunteer today!

Are you interested in helping a nonprofit organization meet their sustainable operations goals in their facility? Or would you like to gain skills in areas like facilitating green team meetings, using ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager to benchmark data, and conducting facilities walkthroughs with water efficiency, waste, and air quality in mind? Then this Illinois Green’s volunteer opportunity could be for you!

As an Illinois Green Sustainable Facilities Mentor volunteer, you will connect with and support a nonprofit building in your community as they make their facility more sustainable. You will guide them through the process of baselining their facility energy and water use, conduct water, waste, and/or air quality walkthroughs of their building, and help start a green team to brainstorm actions they can take to become more sustainable in their operations.

This volunteer opportunity is part of Illinois Green’s Efficient Chicago program (https://illinoisgreenalliance.org/initiatives/efficient-chicago/community-buildings), where staff and volunteers support nonprofit and community buildings with energy and water efficiency, waste management, and air quality. By participating, you will develop professional skills, and help Illinois Green achieve our goal of supporting nonprofits in all of Chicago’s community areas. Additionally, you will be contributing to the greater mission of lowering carbon emissions in the City of Chicago by making buildings more sustainable!
