2024 FSMSPA Online Registration Form
Registration open February 23 - March 8, 2024.

Please fully read and fill out the following form in order to register your team with Fort Saskatchewan Mixed Slo Pitch Association for the 2024 season.

Fees:  Season - $1500
            Bond - $400
            Playoffs - $150
            Early Bird Tournament - $50 (optional)
            

Season: Consists of 20 league games and year end tournament (weather permitting).  All games will be played on Monday/Wednesday, or Tuesday/Thursday.  Early games are scheduled at 6:30 pm and late games at 8:00 pm.  These times are adjusted at the start and end of the season due to lack of daylight.

Playoffs:  On top of the season games there will be a playoff series for those who qualify.  Every playoff series will be a best of 3 with the winner moving on.  Depending on the amount of teams registered in each division the playoffs could consist of the top 6 or 8 teams from each division (could change if teams opt out of playoffs).

Opt out:  There will be an extra fee of $150 for the playoffs to cover umps, maintenance, and balls.  This fee will be charged to every team at the start of the season on their registration cheque at the spring Annual General Meeting (AGM).  If you decide to opt out of the playoffs, or don't qualify, the $150 will be returned to your team with any bond refund at the end of the season.  If your team does not get a bond return, our executive will contact you to make sure the playoff fee is returned.

Divisional Alignment:  Currently we have a 3 division format, however depending on registration it could change to a 2 division format on each day.  We want the level of competition to be as equal as possible, and expect teams to register in the appropriate division.  Every division will need 6 or more teams, and after registration is complete teams will be moved if needed.  Your team will be moved into the proper division if the executive feels you are in the wrong division.

Team Registration:  One cheque is preferred, payable at the Spring AGM.  The cheque can be made out to "Fort Saskatchewan Mixed Slo Pitch Association".

***ATLEAST ONE REPRESENTATIVE FROM YOUR TEAM MUST ATTEND THE AGM IN PERSON TO PAY YOUR REGISTRATION FEE.  THE AGM WILL BE HELD ON TUESDAY MARCH 19th, 2024, AT THE PIONEER HOUSE, 7:00 P.M.***

Returning/New teams:   Get first priority and their spot is secured with their fee payment.  Filling in this form does not guarantee a spot for new teams.  There is room for 48 teams, however if the spots do not fill up, new teams will be accepted up to the 48 spot limit.  If the new teams registered go beyond the 48 spot limit all new teams will be entered into a lottery at the AGM to determine who gets accepted into the league.

Placement is in the following order:

1. Teams returning from 2023 season to the same night are placed first

2. Teams returning from 2023 season wanting to change nights will be permitted to do so if room exists on the new night

3. Teams on our previous year’s wait list will be placed in order on a night/division if and where there is room, and which is suitably agreed to by the team’s rep, Commissioner and Scheduler.  If previous year wait list teams do not register or show at the AGM, they will be removed from the list

4. New teams will be placed on a night/division where there is room, and that is suitably agreed to by the new team’s rep, Commissioner and Scheduler

5. If there are more requests than there are spots available, a random lottery will determine the order to which the requesting teams will be given the open spots

Division 1 is more competitive, Division 2 is a mix of competitive and rec, Division 3 is more recreational.  If you don't know, please choose unsure and talk to us at the AGM.  If you are unsure, the Commissioner can review previous years standings and make a suggestion to you.  Teams may not get the division they choose.

Date: Sunday, April 28th (weather permitting). Three Round Robin games just for fun.  No divisions, no prizes.  Limited to first 24 teams.  $50 cost covers umpires & balls (please add this to your fees).

Date: Aug 9-11 (weather permitting). Reminders will be sent out.

Date: Aug 12-30, with the possibility of playing into September if games are rained out.  Reminders will be sent out.

Two team contacts are required, a primary and an alternate.  Phone numbers and emails are used ONLY for Association communication (events, reschedules, etc).  Please help us be effective and efficient in this area by providing accurate and reliable contact information.  It would be best if the contacts are not unavailable at the same time (e.g. away due to business or vacation).
