The Oneonta Town Board is currently in Phase 1 of researching if there is a need and/or desire for the residents in West Oneonta to have a public water and/or sewer system.

   As you probably know, the Town is in the process of completing a water project on Southside, and are currently examining the feasibility of a similar project in the West Oneonta area. Should there be sufficient interest in this project, the Town will then move onto Phase 2 and prepare a Map, Plan, and Report that could be used for creating a public water and/or sewer district and obtaining funds to help pay for the construction of the systems.
   
   It is important to know that this survey does not commit you to the district or the construction of the systems. This is simply a general interest survey to determine if we as the Town Board should proceed or not. If a majority of the residents indicate that they are interested, the town would hire an engineer firm to prepare the Map, Plan, and Report. From there, the information would be presented to the residents.

   The information provided in Phase 2 would include the preliminary cost projections for the system or systems, whichever is chosen, as well as the anticipated costs to the residents.

*It is important to note that there will be an additional cost, as well as, possible mandatory connection to the system.
