Dear Parents of Musical Auditionees,
We are happy that you and your student are willing to help continue our journey of excellence! This can be a challenging process, but we hope your students learn and grow through this audition process regardless of the results.
Below are the details for participation in a GHS production, so please read this contract carefully so you can support your students to the best of your ability.
ELIGIBILITY Students are required to keep grades passing. If they have 2 or more F's in any of their classes, they will be placed on probation and will be unable to rehearse for a week. If they are out for more than one week, they may need to be replaced. Please encourage students to utilize their time wisely. I will encourage them on my end, as well.
ACTIVITY FEE: Each cast member will be required to pay a $60.00 activity fee. You may pay via credit card on the Grandview webpage by clicking on a link that will be provided if your child is cast.
With the exception of tickets, this will be the only fee required by cast members. Ticket purchasing details are forthcoming. Assistance for activity fees may be available for families in financial crisis. Please let us know
if this is the case as soon as your student is cast.
ADDITIONAL INFO: Due to time constraints there will be Saturday rehearsals including 9/17, 9/24, 10/8, 11/5, and ALL DAY 11/12 (Longest Day rehearsal.)

Most weekday rehearsals start at 3:40 and end at 6PM
• Missed rehearsal without notification is reason for dismissal. Excessive absenteeism is reason for dismissal.

Anytime students are scheduled to rehearse, they need to be present.
• Every effort will be made to stick to the rehearsal schedule. Adjustments may be needed as we go and a revised schedule will be posted.
• If students miss a rehearsal close to the show without prior approval they may be replaced.
• Actors should not change their hair without permission from the director until the show closes.
PERFORMANCE DATES
Wednesday, Nov. 16, 11AM - Middle School Matinee. *All actors will miss periods 2, 3 & 4 this day.
Thursday, November 17, 7:00PM (Cast Call 5:00 P.M.)
Friday, November 18, 7PM (Cast Call 5:00 P.M.)
Saturday November 19, 7PM (Cast Call 5:00 PM)
*Following Saturday performance, all involved will be required to strike (clean up).
There will be an after-party celebration on Monday, Nov 21 after school.
PARENTAL SUPPORT: Finally, though we would love to cast every student who auditions, it is simply not possible. We ask for your support in helping your student through the audition process, knowing that not making it is a possibility. As educators, we are here to help and encourage students in their educational journey, so you can imagine that casting a show is one of the most difficult parts of our jobs. Unfortunately, casting comes with the territory and rejection is something that occurs often in the entertainment industry. We would ask you to work with your children and help them understand that rejection happens in life, whether now or in the future. We understand that disappointment is a natural response to rejection. We hope you will continue to encourage your student to take performing arts classes offered here at GHS to help them continue to improve their craft.
