Summer Food Program

Dear  Caregivers,

As a part of our ongoing commitment to supporting our students and their families, we are exploring the possibility of working with The United Way in initiating a summer food program for children aged 18 and under in our community.

With the rising cost of groceries and basic needs, we understand the challenges many families face in providing adequate nutrition for their children during the summer months. The United Way’s proposed program aims to address this issue by providing weekly distributions of shelf-stable food items that children enjoy. These distributions would take place on Thursdays throughout the summer.

The primary goal of this program is to help close inequity gaps and ensure that all children in our community have access to nutritious meals, even when school is not in session. However, in order to move forward with implementing this program, we need to gauge interest and determine the level of need within our community.

We kindly ask for your feedback on this initiative. If you believe that your family would benefit from the summer food program, please indicate your interest by signing and returning the bottom portion of this letter to your child's teacher by Thursday April 18. Your input will greatly assist us in assessing the feasibility and potential impact of this program on our community.
