~

The Rubenstein Graduate Student Association (RGSA) is excited to continue the Graduate Peer Mentorship Program for the 2023-24 academic year! To cultivate graduate community and wellness among returning and incoming graduate students, this program seeks to pair each new graduate student (a mentee) with a seasoned graduate student (a mentor) based on research interests, social-cultural or geographic backgrounds, and other shared experiences.

We plan to announce mentor-mentee matches by the second week of classes.

**NOTE: This form is meant for RETURNING STUDENTS (MENTORS). If you're a NEW STUDENT (MENTEE), please visit the Grad Peer Mentee Sign-Up Form.**

Expectations for Mentors (Returning Students)
  • Cultivate graduate community and wellness through a peer-to-peer network of new students (mentees) and returning students (mentors).
  • Meet with your mentee at least once a month, either in person or over video calls. Henderson's Cafe Gift Cards provided by RGSA for on-campus mentor-mentee coffee dates!
  • Be a friendly face and friend for the mentees.
  • Answer questions new graduate students have, from milestones to advisor relations to favorite eateries, and be willing to find other resources for them to help answer any questions that you can’t answer yourself. **You aren’t expected to have all the answers, only to be a friendly face to point them in the right direction to find those answers (even if that’s Grad Coordinator Katie Fraioli or us at the RGSA!).**
  • Offer advice in any of the following areas: courses, milestones, professional development, campus resources, research development, imposter syndrome, work-life balance, life in Burlington/Vermont, free pantries, etc.
  • Meet new people, introduce them to new places, and have fun!
  • Add a terrific act of service to your CV.
