Year 9-13 Netball Registration 2020
Dear Parent/Caregiver

Your child has expressed interest in playing Netball for Papamoa College in 2020. This letter is to inform you about the expectations and what the coming season will involve.

REGISTRATION:
ALL students wanting to play Netball in 2020 must register by completing this online registration form. Links to this form can be found on the Papamoa College Sports Facebook Page they will also be emailed out to students. Forms need to be completed no later than Wednesday 5th February 2020.

PRE-SEASON SKILLS:
In the lead up to trials, Papamoa College, in conjunction with Hayley Saunders from Headstart Sport - will be holding a series of skills and training sessions over 6 weeks. Hayley is an ex ANZ Player who ran our program in 2019. The dates are every Tuesday beginning 11th February and ending 17th March and these will run from 6:30 am-7:30 am.  The cost will be $60.00 per student and payment must be received prior to the first session. Registrations are limited to the first 30 students,  please register your interest in the sections below.

TRIAL DATES:
●    9 - 13 trials will be held at the Papamoa College netball courts on the following days:
●    Year 9/10:       Monday 9th March, Wednesday 11th March
●    Year 11-13:      Monday 16th March, Wednesday 18th March

Both days will be run from 3.30 pm - 5.00 pm. Students will need to bring their PE gear and water bottle. Some Year 9-10 students may be invited to attend the year 11-13/Prem trials. Teams will be announced before the 1st of April 2020 and team lists will be put up in the Gym Lobby.

GAME INFO:
Games are played on Friday evenings, for ALL year 9 - 13 players, at Harbourside Netball Courts, Mt Maunganui. The season will commence with Prem College Grading on Friday 1st May 2020. College Grading day will be on Saturday 2nd May and could run over two Saturdays.
Games will not be played on public holiday weekends or during school holidays.

Training:
These will be confirmed by the coach once teams have been selected.  Students are expected to attend all training.  Coaches must be advised as early as possible if they are unable to do so.

TOURNAMENT DATES:
Harbourside will run a number of tournaments throughout the netball season, coaches will need to advise the school if they wish to enter these. Dates to be confirmed. Fees for tournaments are paid separate to the sports fee.

SPORTS FEES:
Year 9-13: $95
Premiers and Junior A: $100
All fees cover the cost of team entry fees, equipment and umpire costs and must be paid prior to commencement of trials.  Regional/National Tournament fees are not included.

If your child has outstanding Sports Fees from previous years they will not be eligible to play sport for Papamoa College until paid in full. Payments can be made by cash or cheque (made out to Papamoa College) and paid to Reception or directly into the school bank account 12-3407-0013800-00 ASB Papamoa. Please ensure you include on your payment details the name and identification number of the student.

UNIFORM:
Students will be allocated a uniform for the season. A $40.00 fee will be charged for uniform hire which includes a $20.00 bond.  This will be refunded at the end of the season when the uniform has been returned in a clean and tidy condition.  

If you would like to make alternative arrangements for paying fees, we are more than happy to work through this with you.  Please contact us prior to trials taking place.

UMPIRING:
We rely on students and parents to help assist with umpiring our school teams,  students/parent umpires are paid for each game they do for Papamoa College ($10.00 or $15 if you have your center badge certificate)

Umpire Training
We will be running an Introduction to umpiring program early in term one,   If you would like to umpire for Papamoa College and/or attend the umpire program 2020, please indicate on the form below.

DRAWS:
The netball draws can be accessed on the website http://www.harboursidenetball.co.nz. It is the student’s responsibility to know when the games are each week. Cancellations will be made on the day of play and uploaded onto Harbourside's website and Facebook page.

COACHES/MANAGERS:
We rely on the help of volunteers by way of coaching and managing our sports teams. Each team is required to have a coach, manager, and umpire. If any family or Whanau are interested in helping out in either capacity, please indicate below and an application pack will be sent.
