Housing is one of our basic needs, and many people live in publicly owned housing or other rented accommodation.  

Opportunities for working in housing are very varied. Many jobs in housing are concerned with creating and maintaining sustainable communities. This includes advising / helping people to find somewhere to live, working with tenants to improve their homes and communities, and working with local authorities and other bodies to create a happy and thriving community. Working in housing also involves managing, maintaining and developing an organisation's housing stock, which could consist of thousands of houses, worth many millions of pounds.
