What Every Volunteer Needs To Know:
Volunteers must maintain confidentiality: Student information is protected by The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), a federal law, as well as state regulations.
Volunteers check in and out at the main office: All volunteers and visitors will enter through the main office to check in. Upon checking in, you will be issued a name badge to wear while on campus.
Volunteers help keep our schools safe and tobacco free:
Volunteers must refrain from bringing or using tobacco products, electronic cigarettes, or any other banned substances while on school property or in conjunction with school-related activities, either on campus or off campus.
Volunteers turn off cell phones or other electronic devices:
Volunteers and all visiting adults shall turn off all audible notifications on their electronic devices while in student areas.
Volunteers help support our students with food allergies:
Awareness of food allergy/sensitivity is a necessity. Food allergies may have serious health implications, therefore, the sharing of food items is prohibited. (If a student shows signs of and allergic reaction or complains of allergic symptoms such as: hives, swollen lips, coughing, tightness in throat, difficulty breathing, paleness, etc. seek help immediately).
Volunteers are aware of how to report suspected child maltreatment:
ANYONE who suspects child maltreatment may report their concerns. If you see something that concerns you, we encourage you to say something. Every person employed by a school district is a mandated reporter.
