Therapy Dog Association (TDA) aims to support the community by providing Animal Assisted Intervention to the community in Hong Kong. We provide qualified therapy dog handlers and their therapy dogs for visitations to schools, NGOs, and other facilities where services including therapy dogs are needed.
TDA welcomes dogs of all breeds, including mixed breeds, to join. Our comprehensive training program ensures that our therapy dogs meet international standards and receive certification that aligns with the requirements set by the United States.

Dogs applying for therapy dog certification must not have any previous incidents of biting or attacking behavior.
Applicants must provide proof of recent rabies vaccination and possess the appropriate dog license.
We reserve the right to refuse service to those who failed to meet our established regulations.
The dog will be exposed to various scenarios and stimuli that simulate real-life situations encountered during therapy visits, and the dog's reactions and responses are observed and evaluated by trained assessors.
Aspects evaluated in a temperament test include:
Interest in Interaction
Reactivity to Strangers
Handling and Grooming
Noise Sensitivity
Adaptability to Novel Situations
Reactivity to Petting/ Hugging
Approach Variation
Temperament testing is essential for therapy dogs training as it helps assess a dog's suitability for therapy work based on their temperament, behavior, and socialization skills.
