WELCOME TO BAND!!!  4th-8th grade students have the opportunity to join Hamburg School’s band.  New students and returning students who are registering for band will need to complete this form.

How will you obtain your child's instrument? Instruments are needed  in the beginning of September. (NOTE: The purchasing of inexpensive instruments online is highly discouraged! Please ask for recommendations when purchasing your own instrument). *
I agree to send money to school in September to purchase a book for my child's instrumental studies. The cost will not exceed $15. I also agree to purchase reeds and other needed accessories throughout the year. *
Please note that band is a graded subject, giving your child academic credit for participation in the instrumental music program.  Students will be graded on participation at lessons, technical ability on the instrument, preparation of assigned music, and submission of weekly assessment recordings.  
I understand that my child will receive a grade for band according to the band grading guidelines. *
Please note that band is a "pull-out" program. Students will be taken out of one class each week on a rotating basis for small group lessons, along with meeting as a full band once per week.  Students MUST attend all scheduled rehearsals, unless a teacher or parent has made arrangements in advance for student to be excused from band. Failure to attend scheduled lesson or rehearsal will result in a grade of zero for that day. If student forgets to bring instrument to school, attendance is still required, but grade will be lowered for that day.
