June 16 at Noon EST: RSVP form for "Here I Am: A conversation to honor Juneteenth and understand Georgetown’s history with slavery"
Thank you for your interest in attending this event! This event will feature an abridged showing of "Here I Am." "Here I Am" takes the audience on an experiential journey exploring Colomb’s loving and complicated relationship with Georgetown, the institution that enslaved her ancestors. Interrogating uncomfortable truths, rather than offering easy answers, "Here I Am" challenges participants to reckon with their own histories, and to imagine the future of racial justice in America.

After viewing an excerpt from the production, a conversation discussing racial injustice in America, Georgetown's history with slavery, and the role of racism in medicine will take place with Ms. Short-Colomb. Ms. Short-Colomb is the Community Engagement Associate at Georgetown's Laboratory for Global Performance & Politics and a Founding Council Member of the GU272 Descendants Association and a Member of the Board of Advisors for the Georgetown Memory Project. The event will be on June 16, 2021 at 12pm.
