Volunteering to help the Golden Rule crew in the DMV
The Golden Rule anti-nuclear ship will be sailing to the DC area and anchoring here (mid-stream, unless they can find an affordable slip) April 3-17, 2023. You can learn more about this historic, originally Quaker project here: bit.ly/GR-Quakers. The Peace & Social Concerns Committee of Friends Meeting of Washington is working with the GR project's current organizers from Veterans for Peace to provide support services when the ship, its four crew members, and one support RV are in the DMV, and to help amplify their anti-nuclear message. Please indicate on the form below what help you can offer.

Peter Nye of P&SC is coordinating this effort and will get back to you to confirm what tasks we will assign you. Please contact Peter with any questions you have: p_nye@yahoo.com

Would you like to help organize or do outreach for the event that Fds Meeting of Washington will be hosting on the evening of April 5, featuring the GR crew and their anti-nuclear message?
Do you work with a school, community organization, bookstore, or other organization that might want to help organize an event featuring one or more of the crew members? If so, please provide brief details so we can follow up with you. If not, leave blank.
Can you help to drive one or more crew members around town as they attend events, do errands, etc? If so, please indicate if you could do this for a half-day, a whole day, or whatever, and what scheduling restrictions you might have. If you can't do this, leave blank.
Can you offer tasty meals to the crew members, either by hosting them in your home or by delivering the meals to the ship?
Can you offer one or more "respite" overnight stays for crew members who have been cramped in the boat for several months now. If yes, please state how many beds you can offer & which dates work best for you? If no, please leave blank.
Your street address. Please be sure to answer this and the next question if you're offering any hosting of crew members, either for meals or overnights.)
Do you live near a Metro station? If so, which one? If not, please leave blank.
Do you have access to a boat slip in the DMV that the ship can use? (A long-shot question but we thought we'd ask!)
