Request for Information on Efforts to Expand Hours/Days for RI Services

In many countries, Routine Immunization (RI) services at fixed sites are only available during standard working hours, with the result that caregivers may not be able to access them easily. While it has long been recommended that immunization services be made available during afternoons, evenings, or weekends, the practice is not widespread. Making services available at times and days when caregivers can access them with reduced opportunity costs could reduce the number of zero-dose and under-immunized children. Learning from previous efforts to expand routine immunization service hours could help countries adopt, adapt, and institutionalize such changes.

The purpose of this survey is to learn about past or current efforts to offer expanded or alternative hours/days for RI services on an ongoing basis. The MOMENTUM Routine Immunization Transformation and Equity project will use this information to learn from and build on successful experiences to date, to help design and implement approaches that can be institutionalized in the future. Please provide your responses to this survey by March 16, 2023.
