Do you love theatre but don’t have the time to commit to a full length show? Then 24 Hour is the event for you. You would only need to be free Friday evening April 19 and all of Saturday April 20. (You must be at least 12 to be an actor and at least 16 to write/direct)
This is how the day would look if you were to join!
Friday: 7pm to 9pm we meet at the Kankakee Valley High School Auditorium for an improv workshop with the actors, writers, and directors. At 9pm the actors and directors go home.
9pm-10pm the writers choose their actors they want in their script (everyone gets a part). At 10pm the writers will go home and will have till 7am the next day to write their 10 minute script.
Saturday: Directors arrive at 7am and actors arrive at 8am. For the rest of the day you will block, rehearse and memorize your script to perform to a live audience at 7pm. Our writers catch up on their sleep on Saturday and then join us that evening to watch their script come to life.
(We do multiple breaks throughout the day!)
This is a wild ride, but so fun and rewarding if you are up for the challenge!
