ABOUT THE SATELLITE SITE STRUCTURE

Satellite sites are often community based centers, or existing youth summer programs already supervising and facilitating activities for youth who are looking for an easy, free, and fun offering to add to their programming.

Calibraska is responsible for coordinating with Nickelodeon and supporting the satellite sites. We are here to support you getting on the zooms, additional outreach including offering flyer templates and "satellite site badges" to use on your promotional materials, and general help however we can.

The workshops and Calibraska's support are also free of charge.

Once we capture your information below we will share a master google sheet with all of the workshop links as Nickelodeon confirms the artists so you can hop on to any of the workshops you want!

As a Satellite site, it is your responsibility to:

  • be responsible for and supervise the participants
  • facilitate a virtual learning experience for your participants
  • If possible, provides basic drawing materials. (paper, pencils, and markers/crayons)

These free workshops are an amazing opportunity for youth to learn from the mega talented artists at Nickelodeon Animation Studio and we are happy to work with you however we can to support you!

ABOUT THE WORKSHOPS

Nickelodeon will be zooming in on Tuesdays throughout the summer to offer FREE Virtual workshops designed for 2 different age groups!

When: Tuesdays - Specific Times below

LET’S DRAW! 

AGES: Grade School (K-5/6)

TIME: 12-12:30 PT / 1-1:30 MT / 2-2:30 CT / 3:3:30 ET

Here’s a super fun way to learn how to draw some of your favorite characters WITH the artists who work on the show! Each week we will watch a clip from a different Nick show then learn how to draw characters from the show with artists at Nick! We will even have a "throwback" week to learn how to draw old school Nick characters! All are welcome!


DRAWING FOR ANIMATION + GUEST ARTISTS

AGES: 6th-12th grades

TIME: 1-3 PT / 2-3 MT / 3-4 CT / 4-5 ET

A super awesome way to learn about the different “gigs” in the animation industry, learn how to develop your drawing skills, and learn from the pros at Nick! In these workshops we will focus on a variety of different ways artists draw for animation at Nickelodeon and in the Animation industry! We will discuss and draw with folks in different departments such as Character Design, Prop Design, Backgrounds, Storyboarding and Visual Development. We are also working on a special “mystery workshop” with a superstar at Nickelodeon! No drawing experience necessary and all are welcome!

PARTICIPATION TRACKING
It helps us and Nickelodeon to track our reach as well as determine what our participant population make-up looks like.

As a satellite, we will depend on you to track some basic data of your participants. (# of participants, gender, race, and hometown population)

This can be something you fill out for all the workshops at one time because you have a set group of students in your program or it can be on a case by case basis for the students that attend each workshop at your site.

A link to the participation tracking form will be emailed to the contacts provided here. If those contacts change, please provide us with a new contact right away.
