Career Workshops
We will run two career workshops this Semester - Saturday 29th January 2-5pm and 26th March 2-5pm.

The first session will aim to give you some frameworks and tools to start thinking about your career, and the opportunity to discuss your uncertainties with other attendees! We will then set goals for the second workshop, where we will reflect on the Speaker Series and our own personal research conducted during the Semester to set short and medium term goals for our Career Planning.

We will roughly be following the 80,000 hours workbook, outlined at https://80000hours.org/career-planning/process/

We will provide food for these workshops - probably sampling Domino's Vegan Pizzas!

Career Based 1-1s
This Semester, we will have the capacity to offer members of the community who are thinking about their careers 1-1s with some of the executive committee. They will be able to discuss uncertainties about your career plans, connect you to other members of the wider EA community, and share opportunities that could be relevant to your interests.

If you are interested, we will be in touch to talk to pair you with a career mentor.

Please note that if you are interested in this at any point during the Semester, feel free to contact Ole or Ana to arrange this.

Speaker Series
During the term, we will be hosting several successful members of the EA community to talk about their careers, offer insights into their focus cause areas, and share how they were able to skill up and thrive in their roles. We think these should be really interesting and useful for community members, especially those currently thinking about their careers. We will also have  community led discussion groups on weeks with no speakers.

We expect these to run Fridays 7-8pm, subject to speaker availability! We will run this in person (we will book out a lecture theatre), although we expect speakers to join us virtually (on a big screen!).

Please note that these events will not require sign ups and will be open to everyone - this is just to help give us an idea of numbers in advance.
