Float Construction Help build floats before the parade! Calling all carpenters and builders with a knack for tools. Workshops held over approximately 6 weeks, with evening or weekend sessions, to design and construct floats. Assist with float construction, art design, and public workshops. Join the float during the parade if desired. Flexible scheduling, no late nights or work hours. We'll contact you when help is needed.
Green Hat 10:30 AM - 4:00 PM Help with Green Hat donation carts during the parade. Attend a few pre-parade workshops to create a themed costume. Join a training meeting prior to the parade to learn donation collection. Arrive by 10:30 AM on parade day for briefing, then work until approximately 4:00 PM. Meet parade leaders afterward to turn in donations and return costumes within a week. Some Green Hats will also attend the Solcylcists paint-up party for additional donations.
Parade Banner Carriers & Sky Writers Help kick off the start of the parade by carrying banners or sky writers. You'll be at the forefront of the procession, proudly displaying banners and hyping up the start of the parade. This role requires a positive attitude as you engage with the crowd and help set the tone for the entire event. Whether you're a seasoned parade participant or looking to experience the excitement for the first time, we invite you to join our team!
Parade Monitors As one of 25 monitors along the short parade route, you'll attend a pre-parade training session. Responsibilities include ensuring spectator safety, managing interactions, removing disruptive individuals, assisting with medical emergencies, and maintaining parade orderliness. Sign up now to help make the parade safe and enjoyable for all!
VIP Seating Help set up and take down VIP seating at Wright Bros Cycling. Arrive at 11:30 AM to arrange chairs (provided) and possibly set up a canopy if needed. Welcome donors and enjoy the parade with them. Afterward, stack chairs and put away the canopy for later pickup.
Concession Stand 10:30 AM to 6PM Join our non-alcoholic parade concession stand team! Volunteers needed to set up recycling and garbage bins, tables, and chairs at the Harvey Funeral Home parking lot and garden. Monitor operations during concession hours, enjoy the parade, and assist with site cleanup. You'll also have the opportunity to watch the parade!
Parade Closers Help bring the parade to a memorable conclusion by volunteering to assist in closing out the procession! You'll play a crucial role in ensuring the event ends on a high note. Your task will be to hold signs and banners at the tail end of the parade, adding the final touches to this vibrant spectacle.
Parade Cleaner (Paid position) 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Pay rate: $25/hr. Duties include walking along the parade route, collecting trash with provided gloves and pickers, and sorting into black garbage bags and clear recycling bags. Filled bags will be left for volunteers to collect later. 
Street Closure Monitor (Paid position) 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM. Pay rate: $25/hr. Responsibilities include monitoring side streets around the parade route, assisting with traffic control, and meeting at Leary Way NW & N. 39th at 11 AM for instructions from your Lead.
