The Fall semester 2021 the UHM Kennedy Theatre Dance Concert “Sphere” will be co-directed by Peiling Kao and Kara Jhalak Miller. Sphere is about holding our awareness in our realms of embodiment. Innovative creation processes emerge as we explore diverse choreographies and a wide range of dance genres.

The UHM Faculty Sai Bhatawadekar, Peiling Kao, Kara Jhalak Miller, Lorenzo Perillo, Amy Schiffner, and invited choreographers Yukie Shiroma, Peter Rockford Espiritu, and Vicky Holt Takamine will choreograph with the following focuses: Hawaiian, Pacific/Oceanic, Asian, Hip Hop, Contemporary, or Hybrid.

The concert will be live streaming on November 19, 20, 21, 2021 at Kennedy Theatre with a full set, music, lighting, and costume design.

The audition is open to undergraduate and graduate Theater and Dance Majors, Minors, and Non-Majors.

Please arrive at 6pm to warm up. Please wear a mask and maintain 3 feet social distancing with others. Please plan to stay for the entire time.
