Request for MCECS Chromebook loaner
The Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science at Portland State University has a limited supply of loaner Chromebooks available to currently enrolled School of Engineering students for up to one academic term.  

Loan Period: One term, only available while classes are in session.

Requests will be approved on a first-come-first-served basis.  A wait-list is available for requests that are not approved.  If equipment becomes available throughout the term, wait-listed students will be notified.  Wait-listed students who are notified of available equipment will have 48 hours to claim the equipment.  If unclaimed, the equipment will become available for the next person in line.

Requests are accepted up to two weeks before the beginning of each term.

Keep in mind that this is a limited resource gathered from Chromebook pools that would have been otherwise used in class. Please take good care of it. If you check out a piece of equipment that you don't need for the entire term, please be courteous to return it after utilizing it so another student can have access to this resource.  

Equipment will be due back the Tuesday after finals week by 4 pm at the Computer Action Team (FAB 82-01). Students may need to schedule with CAT personnel prior to drop off due to current social distancing policies.

Student Responsibility:
    Preventing damage
    Protecting equipment from loss or theft when theft is preventable
    Students are encouraged to save their files using Google drive or their MCECS accounts
    Removing and saving personal data from the equipment before returning.  
    Upon return, all of the equipment will be re-imaged and any data will be wiped.  We can not make any accommodations for recovering data left behind on the laptop once it’s been returned.
    Returning equipment in good condition by due date.

Equipment not returned within 10 business days of finals will be assumed lost and charged as such:

Replacement cost:
-Chromebook: $250 - $500

Equipment will be inspected for any damage upon return.  

**We will accommodate requests as best as possible, but please note that a request does not guarantee a Chromebook.
