Associated Student Body (ASB) Appointed Application
Dear Applicant:
Thank you for your interest in joining Ocean View's Associated Student Body (ASB). As a member of ASB your choices and actions will directly affect the culture of this school. In the execution of your duties you will directly help every program and student on campus. Your involvement is key, as clubs, dances, rallys, assemblies, sports, band, activities, field trips etc cannot happen on this campus without the work of ASB.
ASB members are in charge of the school activities for the entire year. Applying for an appointed position means you will help run and shape the focus of both ASB and the entire school. These positions are important and require a lot of time, effort, dedication, and responsibility. ASB is very rewarding, provides great memories, and is an excellent resume builder. You will have many opportunities to have fun, get to know many different people on our school’s campus, represent OV in the community and be involved in the school and its decision making. It is also our goal to listen to what students want on campus and try to make it a reality. We want all students to feel like they have a voice, and you will help make that a reality.

APPLICATION TIMELINE
NOW - Applications link live.
Sept 3rd - Informational Meeting for all candidates interested in applying to join ASB.
Sept 3rd -- Applications due online.
Sept 7 & 8th-- Interview Period - sign up for ASB Interviews - A link to sign up will be sent to you after applications are submitted. See Application for how to prepare.
Sept TBD-- ASB TRYOUTS - YOU WILL HELP BACK TO SCHOOL SET UP and with other activities as needed. At the minimum, you will be asked to HELP WITH or CREATE VARIOUS SCHOOL EVENTS. Communication with others during this time (and while on ASB) will be essential, you will get more information on this.
The balance of the things required will be sent to you... this process must be completed before the end of the second week. please make sure you communicate and attend all tryout events.

SECTION 2: FREE RESPONSE
The free response questions in section two are listed below. Each of these questions allows a maximum of 800 characters.
SECTION 3: TEACHER RECOMMENDATIONS
Please email the following information to TWO teachers or faculty members that can attest to your character and work ethic.
