Home stays are available before the start of each term (except summer) for students and scholars arriving in the U.S. for the first time. Fall term home stays are offered in the month of September, if enough host families are available. Applications are due by August 1st.

Travel: Plan to make your own travel arrangements from the airport to Corvallis (there is no local airport service, but a shuttle is available from Portland). As a courtesy to your volunteer host family, please let them know of any changes in your travel dates, or if you are delayed.

Please note: Not all hosts live within walking distance to OSU or Corvallis, but hosts will assist you in learning about the community. It is common for American hosts to have pets such as dogs or cats. This is a free program and your hosts are not paid by Crossroads or OSU. It is highly recommended that newly arriving students have their long term housing arranged before arriving in the U.S.
