MIMO Symposium Poster Session Sign Up

MIT Machine Intelligence for Manufacturing and Operations (MIT MIMO) and MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (MIT CSAIL) are hosting the 2nd annual MIT MIMO Symposium, AI: Accelerate Impact. The symposium will be held on May 9th and feature a poster session to showcase student research projects, which will be judged by a panel of academic and industry experts for $20,000 in cash prizes.

If your work leverages data science, optimization, or AI to impact manufacturing or operations, we want you to enter in the competition! Please see the below information for next steps and contact jweisbe@mit.edu with any questions.

  • Who: Poster session entrants will feature MIT students in CSAIL, the School of Engineering, Operations Research, Sloan, and more. The panel of judges will include MIT faculty and industry practitioners. A list of speakers for the general symposium can be found on the MIMO symposium website.

  • What: We are looking for students conducting research in data science, optimization, analytics, machine learning, and/or AI with the intent of improving manufacturing and/or operations. Please see prize winners from last year’s poster session for examples. Entrants will be expected to bring a poster for display and give a quick pitch to judges during the session.

  • Where: All symposium activities will take place at the MIT Media Lab.

  • When: Poster competition will be from 5 PM - 8 PM on Tuesday, May 9th. Judging will take place from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM, after which competitors will continue sharing their projects and networking with attendees until 7:30 PM, when prize winners will be announced around 7:30 – 8:00 PM. Poster session entrants are encouraged to bring their posters by 9 AM and stay for the symposium events (https://mimo.mit.edu/symposium/)!

  • Why: Students entering in the poster competition have a unique opportunity to network with faculty, industry practitioners, and other students; recruit with companies leading implementation of AI in manufacturing and operations; and win cash prizes.

  • How: Please fill out this form with your contact information and project description. The deadline for submissions will be Wednesday, April 26th, but projects/poster content does not need to be complete until the first week of May. We will send details on how to proceed after the poster session finalists are selected.
