I understand that the application for the Freeman Grant/ UM Experiential Learning in East Asia includes the following components: 1) Application Form, 2) Internship Budget, 3) A Certification showing a secured internship or effort to secure an internship, and 4) Professional or Academic Letter of Recommendation. *
I understand that funds received through the Freeman Grant must go to pay for an internship in East Asia for a minimum of 20 work hours per week for 8 weeks in the summer of 2023. *
I understand that, if awarded the Freeman Grant, 1) I will be expected to maintain an active social media presence while participating in my internship, 2) I will be expected to participate in information sessions in the fall of 2023, 3) I will be expected to submit photographs from my internship/travels in East Asia and a survey about my experience, 4) I will be expected to submit a two-page reflection on my personal and professional growth while interning abroad, and 5) I will be expected to write a thank-you letter to the Freeman Foundation. *
