The Community Of Young Israel Google group strives to serve as a useful and beneficial tool for our entire West Hartford community.
It is important to note that the Young Israel of West Hartford will not endorse or take responsibility for anything posted on this listserv. This is NOT a Young Israel of West Hartford listserv but rather it is organized by members of the Young Israel of West Hartford community as a service to the community.
Posting Guidelines
1 Brevity - Be brief.
2 Signature - Sign your full name to every post.
3 Subject Line - Use a brief subject line that summarizes the content of your post. Readers should be able to decide whether your email is relevant to them based on the subject line alone.
4 Don't Reply All - Only use “Reply” to correspond with an individual author. This should be used for all “thank you,” “well said,” “mazel tov” and etc., as well as other private exchanges. ONLY use ‘Reply All’ to provide further substantive information necessary for everyone on the listserv to know.
5 Views, News & Politics - Please do not send out posts containing opinions, news, political issues, petitions or surveys. We make occasional exceptions for issues affecting Israel or our community. Please ask a moderator before sending it out.
6 Harvesting Email Addresses - Harvesting of member email addresses is forbidden for any purpose. Violation of this rule may lead to the forfeiting of the offender’s listserv membership.
7 Posts must conform to the halakhic standards of the Young Israel of West Hartford.
8 Be Nice - The following violations of halakha and basic respect for others are not acceptable:
a. Personal attacks against individuals or groups.
b. Lashon ha”ra.
c. Mussar.
d. Provocative or inflammatory language.
e. Stereotyping or racist comments.
9. We reserve the right to use our discretion when deciding which posts are appropriate and acceptable. We also reserve the right to reject or delete any message at any time to ensure a smooth and proper functioning of the list.
