Lord, Teach Us to Pray--Praying on Paper
We are currently observing the season of Lent. The theme of our Lent worship and learning at First Lutheran this year is based on a request of Jesus from one of the disciples, "Lord, Teach Us to Pray."
We gather in-person every Wednesday night in Lent for worship at 6:00 followed by a brief Confirmation Check-In with our grade groups. If you cannot make it in-person, please watch the Livestream from the evening either live or it will be available around 7:00pm, here https://flcminot.com/view-worship/

Begin by watching the video of Wednesday Night Worship with Melissa, Pastor Ellery and Pastor Brandy discussing Praying on Paper (The link is on the website at https://flcminot.com/view-worship/ ) *
What are one or two ideas that you remember from the "prayer panel" discussion about praying on paper? *
When praying on paper on your own, would you be more likely to use words or graphics/color? Why? *
1 Thessalonians 5:17 says, “Pray without ceasing.” How might you be able to make prayer a part of all your daily tasks and activities? *
Set a timer for 10 minutes and try praying on paper. You can: 1) do some contemplative coloring. You can either create your own Prayer Circle, or print a mandala to use. (find one to print here: https://s.mondaymandala.com/i/m/p/serenity-garden.pdf) Breathe deeply as you color. Use your coloring to focus on a quiet connection with God.   OR   2) Write out a prayer by hand. It can be the Lord’s Prayer, a prayer you memorized from last week, or a spontaneous prayer of your own creating. How was this experience of prayer different from how you usually pray? *
There is no Confirmation next week, Wednesday, March 10th due to spring break. However, we'll still be worshiping at 6 if you're able to join us! Have a good break, and we'll see you on the 17th for worship, discussion and the informational meeting for the national youth gathering in 2022!!
