EERI SLC is an active, collaborative organization. Here's a brief description of the positions that make up the group.
* Co-Presidents: The co-presidents organize and preside over EERI SLC meetings. Co-presidents must have been a member of the SLC for one year prior to elections and participated in the SLC as a Board member or committee member at one of the organized events in order to run for president.
* Treasurer: The treasurer keeps accounts, deposits the SLC’s funds, and makes expenditures in a manner approved by the EERI National Board of Directors. They prepare and send the required reports of the council’s finances to the EERI National Office.
* Secretary: The secretary prepares minutes for all meetings, keeps an accurate record of the membership of the SLC and the chapters, communicates with EERI Board of Directors, and is responsible for the preparation of the annual report to the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute. The secretary keeps record of all activities of the council and is responsible for all council correspondence.
* SDC Chairs: The Seismic Design Competition chairs are responsible for organizing and running the Seismic Design Competition at the EERI Annual Meeting. They are responsible for reviewing and issuing the rules and regulations of the competition every year to the student chapters and for determining and keeping the required deadlines of the SDC. It is strongly suggested that the Seismic Design Competition Chairs have participated previously in the Seismic Design Competition as an undergraduate or SLC member.
* Shake Table Operator: The shake table operator is responsible for making sure the shake table runs properly during competition. They are also responsible for arranging the transportation of the shake table (and a back-up shake table) to and from competition.
*Outreach Chairs: The outreach chairs are responsible for creating connections with those external to EERI SLC. This includes but is not limited to recruitment for judges, organizing social events for the undergraduates during SDC, and managing social media accounts for EERI SLC.
*School Earthquake Safety Initiative Chair: the SESI chair(s) coordinate with EERI Student Chapters for organizing safety training sessions in schools and other K-12 outreach activities across EERI.
* Webmaster: The webmaster is responsible for managing the SLC website. This includes maintaining website so that student chapters can receive recent and up to date information in a timely fashion. The Webmaster is also responsible for organizing all media generated during the competition (videos, photos, etc).
*General member: Attends the general meetings and offers to help when available and with any tasks that are of interest. Not obligated to attend the retreat or the annual meeting.
