Creation Care book reading signup
The Fairmount Avenue United Methodist Church Creation Care Team invites you to participate in the new Witness Ministry book read of best selling book "Braiding Sweetgrass" by Robin Wall Kimmerer.

She is a plant biologist and member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, and in the book reflects on the way she brings the scientific and indigenous ways of knowing together as she observes and interacts with the world. Her deep perspective may enlarge your own, and change how you relate to others we share this earth with.

We plan to meet five times--one for each section of the book--on Sunday evenings starting after Easter on Zoom (4/11, 4/18, 4/25, 5/2, 5/9). You are welcome to come to any or all of them--register below to be sent the link.

Getting the book
"Braiding Sweetgrass" has been a bestseller for some time, so it should be easy to find new, but may be hard to get at the library or find used. If you don't want to purchase it, check with your friends to see if someone has a copy or select "Yes" below and we'll see what we can do.

If you plan to purchase a copy, consider supporting a local independent bookstore such as Birchbark (www.birchbarkbooks.com), Moon Palace (www.moonpalacebooks.com), or Next Chapter (www.nextchapterbooksellers.com). The online site bookshop.org also supports independent bookstores, and libro.fm is a good option for audiobooks. (This one is great--read by the author!)
