Program Description
This is an introductory leadership-competencies training program designed for early-career Japanese and U.S. women in STEM. The workshop has two foci: (1) steering your own career/life and (2) leading others. Each participant will use their personal leadership project to learn and practice the leadership competencies taught in this workshop.

An in-person 5-day workshop during the week of September 2nd-6th, 2024, will be followed by six Zoom workshops (every two weeks).

All participants will also be required to sign a confidentiality agreement to openly share and discuss insights and challenges, build trust, improve communication skills, and develop an understanding of different cultures and perspectives.

Eligibility

Early-career Japanese and U.S. women with STEM PhDs, STEM Masters, or who are students in STEM PhD programs are invited to apply. The participants must also be proficient in English.

Selection Process

The selection process will be by committee and guided largely by the intention to create a diverse group of early-career women across the different areas of STEM. The content of your personal statement and leadership project is particularly important for how we evaluate your application.
