Thank you for your interest in serving on the Southeast Postsecondary Education Alliance (SEPSEA) board.
SEPSEA promotes access to quality inclusive postsecondary education for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities through a shared focus on collaboration through program development, resources, research, and public policy in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina and beyond!
We are looking to fill the following positions:
- SEPSEA Chair: Serve as the contact point for every board member on board issues. Sets goals and objectives for the board and ensures that they are met. Ensures that all board members are involved in committee activities; assigns committee chairs. Work with the Secretary and Executive Committee to create agenda and supporting materials prior to Board and committee meetings.
- Vice Chair of Finance: Reports on activity and needs related to finances and make recommendations to the Board. Serve as an ex-officio member to any committee, task force, etc., created with respect to public policy.
- Vice Chair of Research: Stay current with work related to SEPSEA Research growth strategy. Stay current with research issues that may be affecting inclusive postsecondary education within the states in the Southeastern region and nationally. Report on activity and needs related to research and make recommendations to the Board. Serve as an ex-officio member to any committee, task force, etc., created with respect to research. Serve as a liaison to the Research Committee.
- Vice Chair of Public Policy: Stay current with work related to SEPSEA Public Policy and Government Relations growth strategy. Stay current with legislative/regulatory issues that may be affecting inclusive postsecondary education within the states in the Southeastern region. Create “calls to action” regarding public policy issues as needed. Report on activity and needs related to public policy and make recommendations to the Board. Serve as an ex-officio member to any committee, task force, etc., created with respect to public policy.
- State Representative for Mississippi: Remains current on professional development, research, and public policy issues that may be affecting inclusive postsecondary educations within Mississippi. Reports activities, needs and recommendations to the Board.
- State Representative for Tennessee: Remains current on professional development, research, and public policy issues that may be affecting inclusive postsecondary educations within Tennessee. Reports activities, needs and recommendations to the Board.
