Hello Teachers!

Thank you so much for helping our applicants and for helping us understand our applicants better.

Our Round One applications are due on January 15, 2023 and we ask that students applying by that date have a teacher submit a recommendation form by January 29, 2023.

We ask that students applying after January 15th have a teacher submit a recommendation within two weeks of their application.

We ask that you be as open and honest as possible. We want to make sure that all admitted students can succeed in our program. We will not share your recommendation with the applicant and we are asking our applicants to not request that you share your responses with them either.

We offer both grade-level courses and accelerated / advanced courses. For Kindergarten this may be an advanced reading group in a class; for 8th grade this may be a high school level math course. Are there any subjects for which you think the applicant should consider enrolling in an accelerated / advanced course?

Are there any subjects that you think the applicant may need extra support in?

Please tell us about the applicant's "school readiness". Is the applicant curious and ready to learn? Is school just a way to pass the time during the day?

Does the applicant have any behavioral or discipline issues that may be of potential concern? Has the applicant ever been suspended or subject to any other form of school discipline? If yes, please explain.

Does the applicant have any unique learning needs that may require extra support? We do provide certain types of support. We want to ensure that we have the resources to help every student succeed.

Our applicants are providing us with their recent report cards. Is there anything in particular that we should take into consideration while viewing this applicant's report card? For example, maybe your school has a unique grading policy, or perhaps there were other mitigating factors that impacted the reported grades.

Is there anything else that you would like us to know about this applicant?
