ChessKid is looking for an Events Manager to help us run our growing schedule of live online chess events!  As our Events Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and tactical execution for ChessKid live events. You will work with customer prospects for initial on-boarding, gather requirements, build a timetable, set expectations, perform training and manage pre/during/post event logistics.  Additionally, you learn our proprietary Fair Play systems and be able to confidently make decisions.  

This role requires someone who can wear many hats using a combination of project management, people skills and outstanding attention to detail to help us drive successful live events for our partners and viewers.  

Requirements for role:
-2+ years of experience as an event manager, project coordinator or similar role.  Business development and/or -experience with sales is a plus.
-Outstanding communication skills.  You will be marshalling internal resources as well as communicating with outside organizations. It will be your responsibility to bring in the right people and manage execution. You are the liaison between ChessKid and the outside organizations hosting events on ChessKid.
-Adaptable.  Must work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
-Relationship skills.  Part of your success will be based on your ability to manage relationships and get partners to run future events on ChessKid
-Knowledge of OTB chess events is a must.  You must be able to speak chess language fluently so that you can confidently interface with partners on events requirements.
-Strong experience with ChessKid is a huge plus
-Experience with tournament pairing software like WinTD or SwissSys or similar  systems is a plus
-US Chess TD certification or FIDE arbiter certification a plus
-Experience working with remote teams is a plus
-Experience with project google suite of products, project management tools like Trello, Asana, Jira is a plus
