Authentically Alamance Farmers Market Application (2022)
Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the Authentically Alamance Farmers Market Network (AAFMN) for the 2022 season. The Authentically Alamance brand supports healthy relationships that foster trust and reciprocity between consumers and Alamance County businesses. As a producer-only market, the AAFM offers opportunities for farmers and producers to sell locally while creating a space for the community to learn the value of local produce. Because of this, we do not allow reselling of any kind. The network consists of 3 markets; North Park, Elon, & Downtown Mebane.
The North Park Market will be in operation under a permanent market shelter near the North Park softball field from May-September, on Tuesdays from 3-6pm
The Elon Market will be in operation on the corner of Williamson Ave. and W. College Ave. from May-November, on Thursdays from 3-6pm,
The Downtown Mebane Market will be in operation on Ruffin Street across from the Dollar general from May-October, on Saturdays from 8:30am-12 pm
We at Healthy Alamance take COVID-19 very seriously and work to do our best to maintain safe and functional market experiences. Our main priority is the safety of vendors and consumers alike. Due to this and other variables such as product availability, some of these dates and times may be subject to change throughout the season.

The Authentically Alamance Farmers’ Market Network proudly accepts SNAP/EBT and plans to be able to offer a SNAP/EBT double bucks for up to $10. Our North Park program participates in the Fresh Bucks program which matches up to $20. We operate a token system to be able to distribute these funds and to accommodate vendors who are unable to accept debit/credit payments.

If you have any questions regarding the application process, please email Savannah Little, Market Coordinator at aafm@piedmontconservation.org

Membership
The Authentically Alamance Farmers Market Network is able to offer 4 levels of membership. All vendors are encouraged to sell at all 3 of the market locations within the network. Becoming a member of the Authentically Alamance Farmers’ Market Network provides an opportunity to sell goods and products to over 7,000 consumers across the season and grants access to exclusive opportunities to participate in various events. Last season across the network there were total sales of more than $89,000, a 78% increase from the year before.

AAFM does not charge a flat weekly stall fee; we use a percentage system where only  3% of each vendor’s sales are paid back to the market to cover operational expenses.
Below you will see benefits and requirements for each level of membership. Please select which level of membership for which you would like to apply. An application fee of $20 is required before your application will be reviewed. Application fees are non-refundable. If you would like to request a fee waiver for the application and/or annual fees, please contact Savannah Little, Market Coordinator at aafm@piedmontconservation.org. We strive to make our market network as accessible as possible and would not want fees to impede access to opportunities.

Note: Beginning in 2014, the North Carolina Department of Revenue requires all farmers’ markets keep on file a copy of an official document from the NCDOR with your State Sales Tax ID Number printed on it. Some farmers are exempt from paying state sales tax on their goods and in place of the Tax ID may provide us with a signed, dated letter stating that they are exempt. Your application must include either a copy of your State Sales Tax ID Number, or a signed letter stating that you are exempt. Either takes only minutes to create; please let us know if you have any questions pertaining to this new law.

**Here is the link to a comprehensive FAQ page regarding exemptions. Please use this as a guide and let me know if you have any further questions.
