EDSci Fellowship Interest Form
The UArizona Educators in Data Science (EDSci) Fellowship (1) supports Arizona middle and high school educators across all disciplines in their effort to bring real-world data science learning experiences into their classroom, and (2) promotes efforts to create a more diverse data science field through inclusive recruitment, retention, and teaching and learning strategies.

The EDSci Fellowship is for anyone who is curious about how data literacy can integrate into their classroom and would like to become part of a data science learning community. Up to 20 Fellows will be accepted each year.

In-person 5-Day Data Science Professional Development at CSPD week in Phoenix, AZ: Week of June 17, 2024

Minimum Fellowship commitments include:
1. An in-person, 5-day summer data science professional development, June 17, 2024. This professional development session will jump start your entry into the data science field.
2. Monthly virtual meetings facilitated by the UArizona Data Sciences Academy. 
Participation may include pre-readings, reflective writing, collaborative conversations, group projects, or regional small-group meetings. This will be a time to network with other EDSci Fellows, share successes, and seek suggestions from other Fellows.
3. Create a narrative of your data science journey. How did you integrate your data science training into your classrooms? e.g. building a whole class project, 3 minute video telling your data science story, a lesson plan and how you adapted it to your classroom. We are very open to any format of your choice.

Compensation:
1. Week of June 17, 2024 Summer PD with CSPD week in Phoenix, AZ - $1000 stipend with an additional $500 stipend for participants traveling more than 50 miles from Grand Canyon University.
2. Monthly virtual meetings from August 2024 - April 2025 - $50/meeting up to 10 meetings
