This Parent/Guardian FLEx Learning Experience Application must be completed by the parent/guardian for each student seeking enrollment in the program. Admission will be based on open seats in each grade level. Applications received by April 30 will be placed in the lottery system for available space. Families will be notified via phone if their student(s) has been accepted into the program.
The following are required for initial, and continued, participation in the FLEx Learning Experience option for the 2024-2025 school year. Failure to meet these requirements can potentially result in withdrawal from the program:
1. Students must have access to reliable high-speed internet outside of school. HCS will continue to work with families on an as needed basis to assist with internet access.
2. Students should have demonstrated academic success in the traditional classroom and/or virtual learning and/or asynchronous learning during the 2024-2025 school year.
3. Students must be committed to the virtual learning option for the entire 2024-2025 school year.
4. Students must follow their FLEx schedule, log in to their courses daily, and submit all coursework by the required due dates.
5. For families who choose virtual learning, students with disabilities will be provided the same equitable access to distance learning as their peers who are instructed virtually, to the extent possible, and as outlined on the student’s IEP.
6. Students must practice appropriate digital citizenship behaviors and abide by all guidelines set forth in the HCS Student’s Rights & Responsibilities Handbook.
7. Parents must commit to working in partnership with FLEx teachers on a daily and weekly basis for all scheduled meetings.
8. Students that are non-residents of the City of Hampton will be required to pay the out of zone tuition rate. This rate is currently $2065 a year.
