There is important information below, please take the time to read in full.
UNIFORM
So that we can prepare for uniform orders we ask that you read the following information and provide us with shirt/short/sock sizes. You will need to complete a separate form for each child you have playing. If you are not sure of sizes please estimate and the size can be changed later.
TRAINING EXPECTATIONS
Coaches are responsible for setting training schedules for each team. As a guide, most teams train twice a week before and after Christmas in the lead up to the JSC, subject to the scheduling of gala dates.
We know that some families go away over the Christmas holidays, so there will be leniency about training during that time. Coaches will provide all players with a ‘training schedule’ which of course would be subject to change. We understand that many players in the 16’s & 18’s have part time jobs, so by providing players with a schedule, it will help them plan their availability for work and notify employers in plenty of time.
ANTICIPATED COSTS
It is anticipated that costs will not differ greatly from last year, ie circa $250 per player for the Balmain levy and NSW Touch registration. These costs will be advised when they are finalised with a general explanation on the major cost drivers. Balmain Touch operate JSC fees on a (partial) cost recovery basis and are due in December, the NSWTA registration fee is payable directly to NSWTA in January. Due to the two separate fees that are required to be paid there are two separate 'registrations' that each player is required to complete. There is also the cost of accomodation in Wagga to consider, we recommend accomodation be booked early.
The Balmain Touch fees cover uniform costs plus expenses such as team entry fees, gala day fees, tent hire, table & chairs hire, multiple fruit & snacks each day, first aid kits, managers packages, coaches packages including training equipment, referees for the 3 day tournament, ice and any other incidentals that come up.
We subsidise the JSC costs through it’s fundraising activities such as the Monday night BBQ and sponsorships.
TEAM MANAGERS
Once final teams are announced, we will be needing a responsible person to be Manager for each team who will be responsible for team administration and supporting the coaches. Please keep this in mind and if you are keen to help out, as soon as teams are announced, please let the coach know.
