February oh February. Why must you snow every day February? I have been listening to Anna Karenina on audiobook while shoveling snow. Sometimes I really love everything about it. The shoveling I mean. The weird muscles that I can feel in my back after a heavy session of moving around the weighty damp precipitate. The boots that I wear, which are the same snow boots that I have had since I was 14, which is now over 30 years ago. The strange whiteness of the sky and how low it feels. Sometimes so low that sky and earth might be one. Most of all I love the quiet. I have become scared by how much I love the quiet. Has it been snowing where you are? *
