PERIOD 1
Performance UUAHIB & Ways to compose a landscape
Workshop Period: November 8 - 26
OPEN DAY: November 26 from 17:30 - 20:30
UUAHIB is a moving landscape animated by sound and movement, sublimated under a large textile fabric. Together with the group we will compose a fictional language, translated from the decaying bodies of beanstalks. In a two week long workshop we will choreograph a short performance that expresses the stories of potential landscapes through the formation and movement of the un-uniformed collective body.Â
- Group capacity (6-8ppl)
- Compensation Fee Period 1: 60 euros
What will you be doing?
Week 1: Two sound artists/musicians will be invited to create a script from the beanstalks. Inspired by the concept of Hungal, the Korean language and how it’s script structure created during the Choseon dynasty, we will look at the natural sounds produced from the shaping of our lips mouths, tongues and throats. On the last day, the participants are invited to test the script out!
Week 2: Together with the artists and the soundscape, the group begins to shape movement and work with the fabric piece. Throughout the exercises and with the assistance of theater and movement experts invited to the workshops, we create a choreography that gives the sound piece a sense of locality.

PERIOD 2Performance Shoulder to Shoulder & Ways to breathe a scoreÂ
Workshop Period: December 04 - 18
OPEN DAY: December 20 //14:00-15:00
Shoulder to shoulder is an exploration of the body in the workspace and the reflexive actions our unconscious limbs command in order to relieve anxiety, pressure, stress and hunger. In a two week long workshop we will look at methods of releasing physical and mental tension and bring these collected actions into a sonic gestural script of relief. Together with the group we will explore different types of tensions and compose a live soundscape that will be performed in the WORM offices.
- Group capacity (4-6ppl)
- Compensation Fee Period 2: 60 euros
What will you be doing?
Week 1: Together with the group we will take a closer look at the ways our bodies react to discomfort, anxiety, hunger and stress, then catalogue our collections as a diary. We will look at how ways we naturally try to relieve these tensions through exercises and different forms of meditation. We will experiment with composing these sounds and gestures into a choreography and script, and invite a an electronic music artist to layer the sounds live through contact microphones. Together as a group we will play with costume and scenography for the test-run in the WORM offices.
