Your name please *
I had hoped that the frequent small group short discussions would offer you an opportunity to make more meaningful connections with a few classmates this quarter, and/or help you practice collegiality in low-stakes way. Did that happen for you? Tell me about it.  *
Out of 20 or so possible classes, approximately how many have you missed? If you've missed more than 2 classes this term, tell me why.
Overall engagement and class participation counts for a whopping 40% of your final grade, and includes the following: keeping up with assigned readings by the assigned dates; active engagement in class and small group discussions; reliable and consistent attendance in class; timely submissions of assignments; and overall good faith effort to show up, plug in, and do well.

A 40/40 means someone has worked on ALL OF THIS CONSISTENTLY throughout the quarter. Out of a possible score of 40, what score would you give yourself and why?
*
What do you think I would score you out of 40 for your consistency, participation and engagement this term? Why?   *
My goal for the "Connected to Class" assignment was to give you an opportunity to see how people outside of this class engage with the themes we've been discussing in different contexts. Did the assignment do what I had hoped it would? Did you enjoy it? *
As I've shared with you, I believe grades should reflect your learning and labor in a course, and not only your prior knowledge or experience. For these reasons, I've used a grading system that focuses on your labor and collaborative skills, and gives you opportunities to reflect on and assess your own learning. I've hoped that a grading system like this relieves you of the pressure to simply perform for me, and instead, helps you focus more on your own learning process and engagement. Please tell me: how has this grading system worked for you? *
I'm curious what you may have gleaned not only from this class and our readings, but from me specifically. Is there anything I've shared with you that has stayed with you? An anecdote, a phrase, a philosophy or intention? Please tell me.
If there is anything else you'd like to share with me about this class, tell me here. Thank you!
