AMP Instructor Enrollment Form - Fall 2024 (Due August 12)
Welcome, new and returning Academic Peer Mentor (AMP) instructors! Thank you for your involvement in the program. Please submit this form by two weeks before the start of Fall 2024 classes, so that the Teaching and Learning Transformation Center (TLTC) can best support you and your AMPs during the semester. If you are teaching multiple courses with AMPs, please fill out one form for each course. If you have questions about being an AMP instructor or are looking for additional guidance and resources, please explore the AMP Instructor Handbook here: https://go.umd.edu/amp-handbook

If you are an instructor in the iSchool, please do not fill out this form -- you'll go through a similar process specifically for iSchool instructors instead. Please reach out to Donal Heidenblad (dheidenb@umd.edu) with any questions about AMP and the iSchool.

Roles AMPs will fill in my course - check all that apply.  *
This helps give us a sense of how to best support you and your AMPs. There's no correct answer, and we'd love to hear about anything you're doing that's not part of this list yet in the "other" category. If you're looking for more guidance and inspiration, check out the AMP instructor handbook: https://go.umd.edu/amp-handbook
Required
Approximately how many AMPs will you have in your course?  *
This information helps give the TLTC a general sense of numbers, but it's not a problem if you have to add/drop an AMP after filling out this form. You can see some examples of how instructors have used AMPs and considerations for how many to invite in the Example AMP Responsibilities section of the AMP Instructor Handbook: https://go.umd.edu/amp-handbook. Reminder: please tell your first-time AMPs to enroll in TLTC333: Fundamentals of Academic Peer Mentoring.
Will your AMPs need additional independent study credits with the TLTC for their work in your course? (in other words, will your AMPs need to enroll in TLTC399: Independent Study in Academic Peer Mentoring?)
*
The TLTC offers independent study credits that many instructors use as a way to provide credit for your AMPs' work. If you do this, you'll be given a section of TLTC399 and will be responsible for giving your AMPs grades. See the Instructor Handbook for more details about these credits: https://go.umd.edu/amp-course-credit)
A note about the rest of this form...
You are almost done filling out information - we promise! The next sections are very short and divided based on your role and needs in the AMP program.
