Theater VIRTUAL Auditions Form

WORDS OF THE WISE: A Staged Reading Festival of Women Playwrights.

The PASJ Department brings you several contemporary plays written by some of the most influential female playwrights of today. This isn’t your traditional staged readings! There will be a little staging, a little design and a lot of fun - all with scripts in hand. We are breaking the rules!

Create dangerously, for people who read dangerously. ... Writing, knowing in part that no matter how trivial your words may seem, someday, somewhere, someone may risk his or her life to read them.” - Edwidge Danticat

*Casting actors male and female identifying, trans and gender non-conforming actors, and other members of historically and currently marginalized communities that are not well represented or misrepresented onstage in theatre productions.

NOTE: The Producer, Dramaturg and Directors will be in the room during your audition. Also note that your audition may be recorded for casting purposes only.

Content Advisory: There are scenes in some of the plays that deal with the following topics: racism, hate crime against the LGBTQIA+ community, sexism, suicide, teenage pregnancy, graphic sexual content, drug use and strong language. Please let us know if you're not comfortable performing in any scenes that deal with these topics.

What are your access needs? For example: if you're hard of hearing, if you've got any mobility issues; or health issues; or learning differences that may mean you need things both put in writing and said out loud, tell us! Basically: what needs do you have, and how can they be met so that the department and our rehearsal process can be as accessible to you as possible?
