Please understand that when performing the proofreading, the proofreader will also have to read the portion of the sentence that does not require proofreading and take into consideration how it all connects together, and therefore, the method for counting the volume of the proofreading is not “only the designed portion” but rather “the whole sentence that contains the designated portion”. The count function in Microsoft Word will be used to count the number of Japanese characters (when requesting translation into English) and English words (when requesting translation into Japanese). If the amount to be proofread is a small amount, a minimum charge may apply. The amount of the minimum charge depends on such factors as the type of proofreading and the type of file.
