Call for Proposals: WPWVC-ACRL Spring Conference on June 14, 2024

The WPWVC-ACRL Program Committee is excited to invite proposals for our in-person Annual Spring Conference to be held Friday, June 14, 2024 at Slippery Rock University in Slippery Rock, PA.

Our theme this year is Academic and Intellectual Freedom: Opportunities in the 21st Century.” 

All conference proposals will be considered, but in particular, we encourage participants to consider the following topics as ideas for inspiration.

Learning Commons
Open Resources and Classroom Material Affordability
Research Data Related to Mandates from the Government (Example: NIH)
Experiential Learning: What is it, how do we use it, what role/opportunity do libraries play?
Planning/Project Management in Libraries
The Library’s Role in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB)
Artificial Intelligence in Libraries and the Classroom
Teaching in Libraries
Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Freedom
Attacks on DEI and Intellectual Freedom
Work Life Balance
The “New Normal” - hybrid service and other lessons learned from the pandemic
Staffing challenges and re-envisioning work models

We encourage proposals from both long-standing library professionals as well as those who may be new to the region and/or the field of academic libraries. Chapter membership is not a requirement for consideration.

Proposals will be accepted through Monday, March 25, 2024.

Notifications regarding proposal status will be sent by mid-April, 2024.
