German Language School (GLS) Ottawa Summer Program

Register for 1, 2, 3 or 4 weeks of fun in German!

When? July 4 to July 28, 2023

Where? Ste Geneviève school (the usual location for the GLS Ottawa Saturday School)

Who? Age group 5 - 10 years old

Cost

GLS Community program: $240 per week and child; payable by check or e-transfer to GLS Ottawa ( treasurer@glsottawa.ca). Optional supervised playing 8:30 - 9:30am available at an additional cost of $20 per week and child (also payable to GLS: treasurer@glsottawa.ca).

In addition, you need to register with the International Languages Program (ILP) directly and pay a consumables fee. The consumables fee is $10 for Ontario students (only), and $150 out-of-province students.  This fee is payable directly to ILP.

Please note, all current GLS Ottawa students are already registered with ILP! Therefore, ILP will have already sent you an invitation email titled "2023 Summer ILP Returning Student Registration".

Please refer to letter from ILP regarding information about these additional program costs.

Time

Program runs from 9:30am – 4:30pm, supervised playing from 8:30am to 9:30am available at an additional cost of $20 per week and child.

Week 1 (Tue 04 - Fri 07 July): We will learn all about countries and the people that live in these countries. We will have a lot of fun traveling the world in German.

Week 2 (Mon 10 - Fri 14 July): We will explore the world of animals. We learn about what animals eat, where they live and find out if animals make the same sounds in German as in English or French.

Week 3 (Mon 17 - Fri 21 July): We will travel again, but his time we want to know how we can travel. Is it more fun to travel by plane, car, train, bike or just simply walk, let's discover the various transportation options and have fun discovering the German vocabulary around it.

Week 4 (Mon 24 - Fri 28 July): We will learn about various activities. Who in the group loves soccer, biking, swimming, hockey, running, basketball, etc. Let’s talk and practice activities for this last week of the program in German.

Each week is conceived as a standalone individual module. Modules are not dependent on each other. We will not accept partial registrations, you must register for at least 1 week. You may register for more than 1 week. Please complete this form for each child. Please pay by check or e-transfer to GLS Ottawa ( treasurer@glsottawa.ca).
