VASE Interest Form - Speaker
Are you grad student, postdoc, STEM professional, medical student, medical professional, or rockin' an "alternative career" after earning an advanced degree in STEM or medicine?
If you're interested in speaking virtually to a group of 12-30 mostly undergraduates about your research, career, path into science, or tips for success in your field/career, please fill out the following form. Filling out this form does not guarantee that you will be selected as a speaker.

Speakers usually present for ~20 minutes and answer questions for ~20 minutes. We spend a bit of time letting the students introduce themselves to you as well. What sort of topics would you like to cover in your 20 minute presentation?
Right now we meet on Sundays at 3 p.m. Pacific Time. Are you available to speak on a Sunday during that time?

If you are unable/not selected to speak to the group, would you be interested as being listed as a "Mentor Contact" for the students? Our students are always looking for research mentors and career advice, while expanding their networks. This would likely mean receiving a few questions via email and maybe meeting with students one-on-one [virtually].  You can even pre-record a brief introduction of yourself for the students to get to know you!

VASE Speakers are currently sent a very small honorarium for their time. This is usually in the form of an e-gift card to a Black-owned business local to you. If you have a place in mind, please let me know.
