Request for Release of Student to OUT-OF-COUNTY ASSIGNMENT

Please read thoroughly. This form is to request release of your student(s) from New Hanover County Schools to another school district (such as Brunswick, Pender, Onslow Counties, etc) IF the parent/legal guardian is domiciled (lives/resides) in New Hanover County (NHC). If approved, this release will allow your student(s) to attend a different public school system while you (the parent/legal guardian) remain a resident of NHC. 

Please note this form should NOT be used to request enrollment with New Hanover County Schools nor to transfer records and/or your student(s) to or from another school district or state. If you have any questions about out-of-county release please contact the office of the Assistant Superintendent of Student Support Services at 910.254.4207. Requests will be processed and scheduled for review at the next available New Hanover County School Board meeting. Notification of approval or denial will be sent to the parent/legal guardian and the requested school district within a week of the decision. Requests are only applicable for one school year and should be submitted by June 30th prior to the school year of requested release.
